Prior to her County seat, she was a Board member in the Fontana Unified School District for 17 years. She has a long history of community service and serves on the San Bernardino County CASA (Court Appointed Student Advocates) Board. Laura is a product of our local school systems and is a proud graduate of Chaffey College with an A.A., Cal State San Bernardino with a B.A., and a Master’s degree in counseling from Cal State San Bernardino as well. She is currently employed as a Community Liaison for Fifth District Supervisor Josie Gonzales.
Opening schools safely and as soon as possible and maintaining local control are top priorities for Laura, along with working to ensure that all students have equitable access to technology and other educational opportunities. She is a strong supporter of career technical programs and is a forward thinker when it comes to addressing the challenges facing our student’s future employment.
