When writing ad copy, you need to know your target audience. If you’re selling a product that appeals to a demographic you are unfamiliar with, you only need to do a little research to fine-tune your approach. Have a conversation with them and learn what triggers they react to. Simply checking their reviews for a similar product on Amazon, or reading their comments on social media will help you learn more about who you are selling to.
Once you’ve established a good idea of who you’re targeting, revisit your ad copy. Read it out loud, to yourself, and to a friend. If it makes you laugh, or feel ridiculous (like you’re giving a cheesy sales pitch) trust your gut. Keep writing out ideas until you feel like you’re naturally recommending the product to a good friend. Don’t forget to include a creative call to action!
Not only does this approach have better appeal to your audience, but they should also connect more with the content. Your end result should be concise and feel as though you’re informing the customer of something they can genuinely benefit from.
Write something about yourself. No need to be fancy, just an overview.
